PANTERA ROSA

Rimane,
aggrappata all’essere dal piccolo abito rosa:
fodera sbiadita, larga sul suo scheletro disegnato,
con il muso di cartapesta tremante
ad ogni respiro stretto.

Le mani,
bianche, artigli macchiati di schiuma,
riposano incerte sulle ginocchia,
dolenti di un calore mai avvolgente.

La folla scorre davanti a lui,
si precipita dietro la sua figura.
Intorno a lui, il mondo si rappresenta:
metallo di Mancini, piatti che si spezzano,
passi e risate tamburellano
in fanfare che sfiorano le tibie,
schiene che indicano—tromboni gravi—,
la grande partitura della vita
piegata nella vasta musica dell’assenza,
una nota sostenuta e silenziosa
che attende il segnale mai dato,
in un film al quale non appartiene.

 

 

PANTERA ROSA

Permanece,
asido al ser por el menudo ropaje rosa:
forro desvaído, flojo sobre su armazón de dibujo,
con el hocico de papel maché estremecido
a cada angosta, invernal respiración.

Sus manos,
blancas, mancilladas garras de espuma,
reposan inciertas en su regazo,
dolientes de un calor jamás ceñido.

La muchedumbre fluye frente a él,
se precipita tras su figura.
En torno suyo, el mundo se representa:
el metal de Mancini, címbalos que se quiebran,
pisadas y carcajadas tamborileando
en fanfarrias que rozan sus tibias,
espaldas que ondulan—trombones graves—,
la magna partitura de la vida
plegada en la vasta música de la ausencia,
una nota sostenida y queda
que aguarda la señal nunca otorgada,
en un filme al cual no pertenece.

 

 

PINK PANTHER

He stays,
held to being by the thin pink hide:
a washed liner, loose on his drawn frame,
papier-mâché muzzle trembling
with each narrow winter breath.

Hands,
white, tarnished foam-claws,
rest unsure in his lap,
aching for a heat never held.

The crowd flows past him,
plunges behind his shape.
Around him the world plays itself:
Mancini’s brass, cymbals splitting,
footsteps and laughter drumming
in fanfares brushing his shins,
shoulders rolling—low trombones—,
the score of life
creased in the wide music of absence,
a quiet, held note
waiting for the cue never given
in a film not his.

 

Helena Barbagelata (Génova, Italia, 1991) es una artista multidisciplinaria, modelo, cineasta, escritora, traductora, investigadora y activista cuya práctica transita entre las artes visuales, la literatura, la performance y la imagen en movimiento. Su trabajo ha recibido el reconocimiento de instituciones como la Fundación Onassis, la Academia de Bellas Artes de San Petersburgo y el Human Rights Research and Education Centre (HRREC) de la Universidad de Ottawa.

Es miembro de la Israeli Artist Network, la America–Israel Cultural Foundation, la Society of Jewish Artists, la Associazione per il Circuito dei Giovani Artisti Italiani (GAI) y la Organization for the Democratization of the Visual Arts (OBDK). Su trabajo, que abarca técnicas y medios como la técnica mixta, la escultura, la pintura, el video, la danza y el sonido, ha sido exhibido internacionalmente. Asimismo, ha publicado poesía, cuentos, ensayos y obras de teatro. Es columnista de la revista italiana Punto e Virgola y dirige Traluce, una columna de traducción literaria dedicada a acercar la poesía latinoamericana contemporánea al público italiano.
